Letter from our CEO Sarah Baker

Monday 11 May, 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly I hope this letter finds you and your families well. In the light of recent press coverage I wanted to write to you to confirm the approach we are taking within Gatehouse Green Learning Trust.
I can assure you that we are listening to all Government announcements and will consider very carefully how to implement them safely for all members of our community. All five of our schools and their leadership teams are planning together to make sure we all follow scientific advice and can provide a safe and nurturing environment for our pupils and our staff.
The announcements have raised many questions and when we have decided the most effective and safe approach for our schools we will inform you in full. Until that time, our schools are still open for children of key workers and for children who are vulnerable at home. We will continue to provide work for all our pupils, online and paper based. We are not zooming live lessons because parental and staff feedback has indicated that it is easier for children to engage in their own time; plus not all families can provide one online device per child and sufficient internet connections to allow children and working parents to connect live all at the same time.
Our schools are continually keeping in contact with our pupils and we have provided vouchers to all those who should receive free school meals, please contact your school if you have any concerns about this.
With thanks for all you continue to do to support your children and their learning.
Kind regards
Sarah Baker
