General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation, Europe's new framework for data protection laws – it replaces the previous 1995 data protection directive, upon which current UK law is based. The GDPR applies to all schools from 25 May 2018 and determines how people’s personal data is processed and kept safe, and the legal rights individuals have in relation to their own data.
